Welcome to Hampton Roads Holistic. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of hamptonroadsholistic.com (the “Site”), including our practitioner directory and community calendar. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. What we do
Hampton Roads Holistic is an online directory of holistic practitioners and a calendar of classes, circles, workshops, and events in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. We help people find and connect with local practitioners. We do not provide health, medical, or therapeutic services ourselves, and we are not a party to any arrangement between you and a practitioner.
2. Not medical advice
Everything on the Site, including listings, articles, blog posts, and event descriptions, is for general information only. It is not medical, mental health, or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment from a licensed healthcare provider. Always talk with your doctor or another qualified healthcare provider about any health condition, and never ignore professional medical advice or delay getting it because of something you read on the Site. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call 911.
3. Practitioners are independent
Practitioners listed on the Site are independent and are not our employees, agents, or partners. We review listings before they are published, but we do not verify every practitioner’s training, credentials, licenses, insurance, or claims, and a listing is not an endorsement or recommendation. You are responsible for deciding whether a practitioner or event is right for you, including checking credentials where that matters to you. Any services, bookings, payments, or disputes are solely between you and the practitioner or event organizer.
4. Practitioner listings
If you submit a listing or create a practitioner account, you agree that:
- You are at least 18 years old and the information you provide is accurate, current, and yours to share, and you will keep it up to date.
- You hold any licenses, certifications, or insurance required for the services you offer, and you will follow all laws that apply to your practice.
- You will not make false, misleading, or unsupported claims, including claims that your services diagnose, treat, or cure any disease or medical condition.
- You are responsible for keeping your account login secure and for activity under your account.
We may approve, edit for formatting, decline, or remove any listing at our discretion, including listings that are inaccurate, inactive, or that do not fit the purpose of the Site.
5. Event submissions
Event submissions are reviewed before they appear on the calendar, and we may edit, decline, or remove them. Event organizers are responsible for the accuracy of their event details and for running their events, including any registration, payment, refunds, safety, and cancellations. We are not responsible for events listed on the Site. Please confirm details directly with the organizer before attending.
6. Content you provide
You keep ownership of the text, photos, logos, and other content you submit. By submitting content, you give Hampton Roads Holistic a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, format, and share that content on the Site and in promoting the Site (for example, on our social media or in our emails) for as long as it is listed. You confirm that you have the rights to the content you submit, including permission from anyone shown in photos, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
7. Acceptable use
When using the Site, you agree not to:
- Post anything unlawful, false, misleading, harassing, hateful, or obscene
- Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone
- Send spam, or copy or scrape listings or contact details for marketing or other bulk use
- Interfere with the Site’s security or operation, or try to access accounts or areas you are not authorized to use
8. Reviews and third-party content
Some listings display reviews pulled from third-party services such as Google. Those reviews are written by third parties and reflect their own opinions, not ours, and we do not control or verify them. The Site also links to other websites, such as practitioners’ websites and booking pages. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those websites.
9. Our content
The Site’s design, logo, name, text, and graphics (other than content provided by practitioners and other users) belong to Hampton Roads Holistic and may not be copied or reused without our permission, except for personal, non-commercial use or sharing links to the Site.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information. By using the Site, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimers
The Site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that listings or event details are complete, accurate, or current, or that the Site will always be available or error-free.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hampton Roads Holistic and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss, injury, or harm arising from your use of the Site, any listing or event, or any services you receive from a practitioner or event organizer. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed $100.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless Hampton Roads Holistic and its owners from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from content you submit, your services or events (if you are a practitioner or organizer), or your violation of these Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Site will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Virginia.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. We may also change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time.
