Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 3, 2026

Hampton Roads Holistic (“we,” “us,” or “our”) runs hamptonroadsholistic.com, a directory of holistic practitioners and a community calendar of classes, circles, and events in Hampton Roads, Virginia. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information you give us

  • Contact and event submission forms. When you send us a message or submit an event, we collect what you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, and the details of your message or event.
  • Practitioner accounts and listings. When you create an account or submit a listing, we collect your account details (username, email address, password) and the listing information you provide, such as your name, business name, photo, modalities, city, whether you offer in-person or online sessions, bio, contact details, social media links, and booking link. Approved listings are published on the site and are visible to the public. Please only include contact details you are comfortable sharing publicly.
  • Email updates. If you sign up for our emails, we collect your name and email address so we can send them to you. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • Comments. If you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address, and comment you enter, along with your IP address and browser information to help detect spam.

Please do not send us personal health information through our forms. Hampton Roads Holistic is a directory and calendar, not a healthcare provider.

Information collected automatically

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, connected through Google’s Site Kit plugin, to understand how visitors find and use our site, such as which pages are visited, how long visits last, what kind of device and browser are used, the general location (city or region) of visitors, and how people arrived (for example, from a search engine or social media). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this information, and it is processed by Google. We use this information in aggregate to improve the site; we do not use it to identify individual visitors. You can learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information, such as IP addresses, browser type, and pages requested, to keep the site secure and running properly.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use:

  • Essential cookies that keep you signed in to your account, remember form entries, and help the site load quickly.
  • Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, as described above. These are only used if you have not declined them on our cookie notice.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block essential cookies, some features, such as signing in, may not work.

How we use information

  • To review, publish, and maintain practitioner listings and event listings
  • To respond to your messages and requests
  • To send email updates you signed up for
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it
  • To protect the site against spam, fraud, and security problems

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • Publicly, when that is the purpose. Approved practitioner listings and event listings are published on the site.
  • With service providers who help us run the site, such as our web host (Hostinger), Google (for analytics and search performance), and our email service. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our visitors, practitioners, or ourselves.

Third-party content and links

Some pages show content from other services, such as Google reviews of practitioners, and link to outside websites, such as practitioners’ own websites and booking pages. Those services and websites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Practitioners listed in our directory are independent, and any information you share with them directly is handled under their own policies.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Practitioner listings stay on the site until the practitioner asks us to remove them or the listing is no longer active. Messages and form submissions are kept as long as needed to respond and keep reasonable records. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.

Your choices

  • You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing us.
  • Practitioners can update or remove their listing at any time by contacting us.
  • You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
  • You can turn off Google Analytics on this site by choosing “Decline” on our cookie notice. To change your choice later, click “Cookie Settings” at the bottom of any page. You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on linked above, or block cookies in your browser.

Children’s privacy

Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we collect, including a secure (HTTPS) connection. No website can guarantee complete security, however.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
